In case of a (serious) car accident, you are probably grateful if all passengers survive. However, someone might be gravely injured and suffer from, for example, permanent disability, leading to a number of adverse financial consequences.
Passenger insurance (PI) is the additional insurance that can be acquired when acquiring car insurance. And although passenger insurance is not legally required, it is certainly a type of insurance you should consider.
The insurance is valid during the ride of the insured vehicle, when getting in and out of the vehicle and when conducting emergency repairs to the vehicle on the side of the road. The insurance applies to all passengers transported in the vehicle with the permission of the person who acquired the insurance.
Please note that the insurance does not cover damages in the case of passengers being transported for a fee.
